Who are we
Wensleydale Vets is an RCVS-accredited mixed veterinary practice, providing our own out-of-hours service. Our primary aim is to work with the community to provide an excellent level veterinary care. We are compassionate about animals and strive to achieve the best possible outcome for our patients and their owners.
Our commitment
We are aware that veterinary activities have an impact on the environment. As such, we support Vet Sustain’s veterinary sustainability goals and have identified key areas within our own practice. We are working to reduce our carbon footprint and the effect we have on the environment, while still delivering a high standard of care to our patients.

Sustainable Use of Resources

Recycling where we can. More recycling points have been added around the practice to make this more achievable in busy practice.

Reusing: Hospital sheets and general anesthetic sheets will be reusable to reduce our paper waste.

Hand towels used in many locations to reduce paper towel waste

Energy conservation techniques

When leaving room, all lights to be switched off, with the exception of reception.

Heaters to be turned right down at the end of the day.

Reducing Carbon Emissions

Foresight when planning home and farm visits, so that all visits in the same area are made by one vet, thus reducing the miles we are doing
